STORY

From the age of 28, Deb King's mission statement has been "To teach people how to reach their God-given potential through the power of Christ." She has applied that mission statement to her personal relationships, her business, and her recovery journey.

Deb has always had a passion for helping people get through hard places to dream of finding peace amidst excruciating pain, heartache, and joy. It is a gift to find hope in the valley and mountain top. Deb and her husband Marvin had a few hundred teenage emergency shelter foster children. She found it incredible to see the light go on in their heads and hearts when the kids dared to dream and believe they could thrive, regardless of their pain and suffering.

Being a recovering alcoholic of 43 years, Deb has had the opportunity to work with many whose actions needed to grieve the choices and consequences of their decisions and who found the shared experience, strength, and hope that could choose to thrive on the journey of sobriety.

I often asked the person I was meeting, "If money wasn't an object, what would you dream that you would want to be or do? Follow-up questions always were what is stopping you; Can you stop for a moment and allow yourself to dream? God has a plan for your life. Are you willing to dream and believe you can achieve your dream regardless of the obstacles?" She still asks those questions of those she meets today.

Deb is a two-time widow, Marvin had nine heart attacks in 6 years before his passing, and Steve had a nine-month hard fought battle with cancer. Unfortunately, she is no stranger to loss, her mother passed away a few years before her father passed, and her Father-in-law passed just nine months before her husband.

She has two biological daughters and five grandchildren who are the delight of her heart! With both of her husbands they blended their families and experienced the challenges and joys that can come with it.

Deb has been a business owner, operator, and investor, for 35 years in various industries.

She understands the loss of family and dreams and has had life take a 90-degree or 280-degree turn from what she hoped for or expected. Yet, there have been failures and successes over the years, and one thing is evident in her story, God is Faithful.
